According to reports in Greece, Newcastle have now entered the race to sign highly-rated PAOK left-back Dimitris Giannoulis.
As shared by Sport Witness, we’re believed to be ‘seriously considering’ a move for the 24-year-old – who is also attracting interest from recently relegated Watford.
The report, which comes from leading Greek outlet Sportime, says PAOK have already rejected an official offer of €3.5m for the full-back this summer – with them keen to keep their star player ahead of Champions League qualifiers – but state that an offer of €5-6m could be enough to see them cash in.
So, a new name linked and no surprise to see it be a left-back, with us in desperate need of options down that side now former loanees Jetro Willems and Danny Rose have returned to Frankfurt and Spurs respectively.
Giannoulis is a Greek international who bagged six assists and a goal from left-back last season.
