In a landslide result, a Twitter poll by NUFC360 with almost 15,000 votes has showed that fans unanimously believe Steve Bruce is NOT the man for the job at Newcastle United.
When asked “Is Steve Bruce the man to ensure NUFC progress over the next year?’, 95.2% of the 14,726 voters said no.
A pretty damning result and it’s one that proves that the majority of us have lost faith in the manager:
Results may be ok, with us mid-table and in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup, but that’s not really the problem. There’s only so many ‘lucky’ points you can pick up before you run into trouble – and fans are starting to realise this en masse.
The football is turgid – and for many fans it’s become a pain to watch the matches. We boast an £80 million attack, but show little to no threat.
It may just be a Twitter ran poll, but I think it’s pretty fair to say that the overall discourse is that the majority don’t want Bruce to stay for the foreseeable – not to mention the fact 15,000 is a pretty big sample size!
Performances need to improve or I imagine it’ll be a summer of pressure & discontent for Steve Bruce.
Do you think he can lead us to any degree of progression? Let us know in the comments below!

I would sack him now!

We have bought better players and loan signings, I thought things are looking up, but what happens he deploys the same tactics as last year, the new players must be thinking what have I done coming up here, apart from a very poor Burnley side we have lucky.

@Joe
Exactly my thoughts. I thought great we have some proven attacking players and Bruce has the nerve to say the team have played defensively for the last couple of years and he’s trying to change that, then he sets up defensively!

Google these words and look at the first result “steve bruce louise taylor tactics” Scary

Bruce is defence minded and he’s even rubbish at that. I can only see relegation if he remains.

15,000 is a huge poll.
Some US Presidential election opinion polls are less than 1,000 people.
Also to consider … Bruce voting for himself … his son … Darren Bent … they really can`t help themselves … Mackems … so even the 4% YES might not be NUFC fans.
Awful choice from the start.
But Ashley`s only going to pick puppets after Rafa.
So what`s the point.

The guy is a proven Clown and not a Manager!
The club have spent big on players and went and bought someone that simply can’t manage!
Just look at how the value of player’s – like Longstaff + + + – have ALL gone through the floor since he arrived
Get a MANAGER in and you’ll see the players come together and play as a TEAM plus you’ll see Joelinton start to play
KK(Quote)
Def no faith in him. Clueless how to defend and clueless how to get the best out of his attackers. Two home games with not a shot on goal(except for a lucky penalty) stuffed by Man Utd, conceded 4 goals the goal we got was an own goal. Shocking
Dvdkar(Quote)
Potter from Brighton absolutely made Bruce look like a Sunday league coach still half cut from Saturday night
Stephen Lee(Quote)
I think you all need to get real. A geordie manager who wants the job and is doing his best without constantly whining. Team actually want to play for him and we can understand him. At least they try to attack which was more then benitez ever tried.GROW Up just cosbhe once managed the makems.
Mr Alan(Quote)
Out of his depth. And that ex boro idiot who stands beside him beggars belief. Sack them now!!!
John Turner(Quote)
No Steve Bruce is not the man to lead NUFC, he keeps saying he hopes the fans can see what he’s trying to do, the thing is he doesn’t know what he’s doing, so how can he expect us to know, Saturday against man united was a complete nightmare.
Gary Miller(Quote)
unfortunately we have ashley to contend with and I can’t see him sacking bruce especially if he is cheap and doesn’t argue.
john marshall(Quote)
Need a quality attacker, pay £30m and deploy him playing in front of an 10 man defence. The boy is clueless. We should have taken ManU to the cleaners, but let them dominate the game. If greedy Sky only charged £5 to watch future Newcastle games, I’ll go out shopping with wife instead.
Soul destroying ?

Wow!
A poll on an anti Bruce website produces an anti- Bruce result, reported by a blogger who has never had a good word to say about Bruce
Now that’s incredible!

For as long as I remember we’ve been a team that has leaked goals and as a life long fan I’ve accepted that, what I can’t accept or understand is why we try and use it as a strength and play bang average counter attacking football, sitting with 30% possession is ludicrous, we have the means to attack teams so why not do it? When it comes to the bigger teams we know they’re going to find a way to score and it makes it all the worse when we show zero ambition on the pitch to try and utilise our own strength, we’ve seen so far this season that the 2 biggest teams in the league are very capable of conceding, in fact I think they’ve both leaked more than we have thus far but Jesus wept, I’d sooner go out and be beaten 3-1 or 4-1 so long as we’ve showed something, it doesn’t take a genius to know that if we play a system that fits ASM, Might, Wilson and Frazer then we’re going to score a hell of a lot more then what we currently are, bring in a manager that shows the team some respect and confidence, play to our strengths and stop with this minimal possession negative football, just play every game to win, if we’re beaten because the other team were simply better then we will accept that, but we’re being beaten without effort. A change is needed asap before it’s too late, we can’t rely on the teams below us to drop points to keep us safe.
Stephen reed(Quote)
Definitely Mr Bruce should go ASAP. His ability as a player (whether good or bad) has no bearing on his ability as a manager or a tactician – which in my view are both bad (terrible, atrocious, hopeless, helpless and useless). We have some decent players who want to play and win, but what must they think when they see the team sheet with the likes of Joelinton and Andy Carrol on it and then get told the tactics for the game. I feel sorry for most of them. I also feel very sorry for Joelinton ( who I have criticised from his first match), he MUST know he just isn’t good enough to play in the premiership. I’ve decided not to watch NUFC again for a while. I’m going to find some football to watch instead – these are very sad times for the toon ?
Bert(Quote)
It wasn’t our poll, it was done by @NUFC360 (one of the biggest NUFC pages on Twitter), so I’m not sure why you’re trying to suggest it was biased in any way.
Olly Hawkins(Quote)
Bruce is an idiot and a sell out. He gifted man u 3 points to help his team out. He has no plan.. Frustrating watching Newcastle these days! People laugh at me when I say I support Newcastle.

He should step down with dignity even though we finished 13th last season but he is Mike Ashley’s puppet and we won’t have the luck of winning enough points to stay up this season.
Justin Jarrett(Quote)
Bruce should put his coat on and leave, He hasn’t got a clue about tactics other than defend and he has us defending like an aged 7 school team. No disrespect meant to 7 year olds. Get the tea lady ready to take over, she would do a better job.
