Almiron’s agent at it again as he names yet another club trying to sign the Newcastle Utd star

Miguel Almiron’s agent is at it again.

Just a few days on from his astonishing claim that the Newcastle United No 10 would’ve left the club had it not been for the Coronavirus pandemic, he’s now named yet another club trying to sign him.

First it was Atletico Madrid, then it was several “big English clubs” who had made enquiries and today he’s claiming that Inter Milan are now showing ‘interest’.

Here’s what Daniel Campos told  Europa Calcio:

Almirón can play in various positions and is always available to the coach wherever he needs him.

Obviously he stands out more in offensive positions and with ball possession, but he has no difficulty in assuming other roles to the advantage of the team.

“Almirón is happy at Newcastle and when the time comes we will analyse it.

Now his reality is Newcastle and qualification for the World Cup with Paraguay.

“Inter have shown interest in Miguel Almiron, but no progress has been made.”

This is getting a bit silly now and, above all else, seems pretty unprofessional of his agent.

Almiron may well be frustrated by his lack of game time under Steve Bruce or the fact he’s not being played in his best position, but for Campos to go so public about a potential move away is poor and pretty disrespectful to the club that paid £20m to sign him almost two years ago.

I wonder who he’ll be linked with tomorrow…

  1. What’s the problem?

Newcastle will not sell him unless they get an outrageous fee for him – like Sissoko or Perez.

If someone is willing to pay 50 or 60 million for Almiron take it and move on, and get someone who can manage better than one goal and one assist every 11 matches.

I can hear the fans now “Oh but he tries so hard!!”
Yeah great. Personally I’d prefer a Michael Owen type who scores one in three games and doesn’t give a $h!te rather than somebody who tries but can’t score.
