Michael Chopra launches brutal attack on Steve Bruce after Brentford horror show

Former Toon striker Michael Chopra has ripped into Steve Bruce following our embarrassing League Cup exit to Brentford last night.

It was a similar story for Newcastle as we were outplayed for most of the game despite naming arguably our strongest team on paper prior to kick off.

Fan backlash has been loud on social media and an outspoken Chopra has got in on the act, claiming he has lost the dressing room while signing off his tweet with the #BruceOut hashtag.

Here is what he posted following that shambolic performance:

Many fans decided to ridicule the ex-Toon youngster for his involvement in the Bellanova Group fakeover rather than comment on what they saw last night.

I guess that sums up everything about our club under Ashley – a Newcastle that is divided and far from United.

Our season will now likely fizzle out into obscurity and yes, I do believe Bruce has the ability to steer us towards safety and guide us point by point to another year in the top flight.

But is that what we want though? Another year where nothing really happens, supporting a club with a hierarchy that is content for that to be the case.

  1. Chopra should shut up,he fronted a sham takeover bid from a bunch of conmen . Yes Bruce’s selections are weird at the moment and if he doesn’t get it together he will be history , but Michael Chopra should keep his head down unless he fancies the job, lol.

  2. Look it’s a simple and obvious that Bruce after 18 months – JUST ISN’T A MANAGER

What the NUFC Board can’t do is let Bruce go into the Transfer window!

    One – we’ll end up with 10 Hendrick’s

Two – we’ve gone through this before – last being with McBrolly

Time NOW to act and get a MANAGER + stay clear of personal attacks from people that just want attention

Yet he’s taken us further in the cup and finished as high in the league as Benitez did.

Were you shouting for Benitez to be sacked??

  5. Bruce has had time now to get things sorted. He has had money. A net spend of £100 million

Rafa had a net spend of about £5 million

I do not want Rafa back but I think £100 million could have been spent a bit more wisely

  6. Charlie Bennett has another go at Bruce – that’s hardly surprising but what is a shocker is that he’s taken to nicking lines out the Chronicle for his articles.

    Shame on you Mr Bennett!
