Warren Barton launches must-see attack on Steve Bruce live on talkSPORT – Video

Warren Barton has hit the nail on the head in a scathing assessment of Steve Bruce following last night’s embarrassing 1-0 defeat to rock-bottom Sheffield United.

‘The Entertainers’ era defender went live on talkSPORT this morning, perfectly highlighting some of our main frustrations with Bruce after arguably our worst performance since he came to the club.

The five minute rant mentioned his lack of passion even when we win, the negative, no-hope way in which we set up, and the effect that it has had on a club that he recalls feeling ‘so lucky’ to have played for in the nineties.

He also hit the nail on the head by describing how our abysmal tactics at Bramall allowed a side shattered of confidence to grow into the game and ultimately turn us over.

Watch Barton’s excellent analysis of our current situation here:

After pundit after pundit has come out and aimlessly defended the indefensible NUFC boss, it’s nice to see someone actually ‘get it’ and say it how it is.

  1. He got some stick here as a player but he’s spot on in his assessment. The other brown nosers currently on TV should pay attention.

  2. Mr Barton is spot on right. If Bruce doesn’t leave immediately, we will get relegated. Steve Bruce has turned newcastle into a complete fucking embarrassment . Go!!

  3. After 65 years of my devotion to NUFC I now feel ashamed of our once proud team. I have shed many tears over the years and have many bad owners and managers but the two we have now are making us the laughing stock of the world. I plead Bruce please go as like myself your family were from the east end of our great city and you should hang your head in shame in your part in what looks like a relegation season and obeying the loathsome Londoner. Laurel & Hardy Run Club.

  4. Excellent interview, Warren Barton (centre partin) hits the nail on the head and is the exact polar opposite of Bruce’s attitude and approach. We could do worse than have Barton in the dressing room to get the players thinking positively after Bruce has inventively filled them with the belief that they have to defend cos they aren’t good enough.

What did McCoist say about the interview? I wonder because he is one of the pundits full of praise for his ‘talent agency’ buddy Bruce.

  5. Warren Barton is spot on, bruce has what I call second season syndrome at all the clubs he has been to where he gets odd results and a bit of luck in the first season then it all disappears and he hasn’t got a clue how to react because he’s a terrible coach and shouldn’t be anywhere near the Newcastle job.
