TEAM NEWS: Fraser starts & Carroll dropped as Steve Bruce makes 2 changes vs Leeds

The teams are in ahead of tonight’s clash with Leeds at St James’ Park, and Steve Bruce has made TWO changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Aston Villa on Saturday night.

Here’s the starting 11 in full:

(5-2-2-1?): Dubravka – Murphy, Hayden, Lascelles, Schar, Lewis – Hendrick, Shelvey – Almiron, Fraser – Wilson.

OUT – Manquillo and Carroll

IN – Murphy and Fraser

SUBS: Dubravka, Krafth, Manquillo, Matty Longstaff, Ritchie, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton, Gayle, Carroll

So, Fraser comes in for Carroll and Manquillo fails a late fitness test, meaning Murphy comes in at right wing-back.

It could be a 5-3-1-1 with Almiron in a midfield three and Fraser just behind Wilson up top, however we reckon it’s more likely to be a 5-2-2-1 as shown above.

My main issue is the midfield. Shelvey and Hendrick against a high energy Leeds is asking for trouble for me!

We come into the game without a win in our last TEN games and have scored just once from open play in 14 hours of football.

Win tonight and we’ll be 10 points clear of Fulham, but lose and the Cottagers could move to within just FOUR points of us should they beat Brighton at The Amex tomorrow night.
