Bruce offers triple transfer update on Hamza Choudhury, Jetro Willems & Matt Ritchie – Video

Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury – but has RULED OUT a January return for Jetro Willems.

He claims the Frankfurt full-back and former loan star “hasn’t played enough”, with the Dutchman yet to kick a ball in competitive action since he was stretchered off with an ACL injury in that 1-0 win over Chelsea 12 months ago.

As for Matt Ritchie, Bruce confirms he is “frustrated” by his lack of game time and does little to rule out a potential return to Bournemouth over the coming days.

He accepts he could leave if the “right bid” comes in, but insists it’ll take “one hell of an offer” to prise him away:

Here’s what he’s had to say on all of the above, starting with him confirming that Choudhury is a player he “likes”:

Bruce on Hamza Choudhury:

“Well he’s somebody we’ve liked.”

It’s been reported.

“As I said, I never want to be speak about anyone else’s players.

“I think that would be wrong, but it’s somebody that we do like, yes.”

Bruce on Jetro Willems:

“I think Jetro hasn’t played enough, unfortunately.

“The problem we have in the loan market in particular is, is there someone who has played enough we can get?

Bruce on Matt Ritchie:

“‘His frustration of course is that he’s not playing week in, week out as he has done. in the past.

“If the right offer comes along for anyone in the squad…we have to make way to bring someone in,”

“So you can never say never but, certainly, with Matty, he’s been here a long time so it will take a hell of an offer”
