Two managers ‘in the frame’ for NUFC job if Mike Ashley changes Steve Bruce stance – Eurosport

Steve Bruce may be set to avoid the sack (somehow!), but TWO names have now been linked with his job should Mike Ashley change his mind.

Eurosport report that Burnley’s Sean Dyche and former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder are both ‘in the frame’ and ‘keeping a close eye’ on the delicate situation at St James’ Park.

That said, Dean Jones’ piece insists that Mike Ashley still has confidence in Bruce and believes he’s the man to keep us up – although that stance will surely be tested if the 60-year-old fails to stop this winless run.

With Bruce under huge pressure from Newcastle fans and the local media, Eurosport believe both Dyche and Wilder are two names to ‘look out for’ should Ashley eventually decide to do the right thing.

The sad thing is, we currently have an incompetent owner refusing to sack our manager because he doesn’t want to pay him off and an incompetent manager refusing to walk because he wants his final pay day!

It’s a complete and utter mess and all the more frustrating when there’s options out there who I believe to be far more capable of galvanising these players and keeping us up.

Some may wonder if Wilder is an upgrade, but a manager who actually attempts tactics, speaks from the heart and got a Sheffield United side from League One to 9th in the Premier League (last season) has much more about him than Mr Bruce. for me!
