Bruce responds to Saudi takeover rumours as he’s quizzed in Friday morning press conference

Steve Bruce has given a blunt response to the latest raft of Saudi takeover reports, claiming he has no idea what is going on and “no opinion on it whatsoever”.

This comes after new revelations were made by The Mail and The Chronicle in recent days, with the former claiming Mohammed Bin Salman urged Boris Johnson to intervene and the latter sharing host of previously unseen emails between the Government and the Premier League.

The NUFC boss also insists that his only focus is tomorrow’s game with West Ham, insisting that on field matters are more important.

Here’s what Bruce has had to say when quizzed about the ongoing takeover saga at this morning’s press conference, joking “there’s a takeover on the horizon again.”

“There’s a takeover on the horizon again isn’t there?

“I’ve got no opinion on it whatsoever.

“I don’t know enough about it.

I don’t know where it sits, where it is.

“I’m really, genuinely focused on how we can go and get a result against West Ham.”

I don’t blame Bruce for turning a blind eye to it all, however there must be a part of him that doesn’t want to know when any potential Saudi-backed buyout would more than likely see him replaced.

After a big win at Burnley was followed by a host of new takeover claims, let’s hope we can let out football do the talking and take another big step towards safety with another result tomorrow!
