Isaac Hayden makes NUFC fan’s day with £1,000 donation & heartfelt message – Photo

Isaac Hayden has generously donated £1,000 to a NUFC fan who is taking part in a sponsored hike following a tragic family bereavement.

Newcastle supporter, Mick Daglish (@daggymick), shared Hayden’s act of kindness on his personal Instagram page, saying how he initially messaged the Toon midfielder to just help raise awareness for his fundraiser by sharing it on social media.

However, Hayden went a step further and actually donated to the cause, leaving an uplifting message to a family that is grieving the loss of a wife and mum-of-two:

Mick is doing the hike in honour of the Motor Neurones Disease Association, a charity set up to provide care for victims of the lifelong, degenerative condition. If you can spare a pound or two, please donate here.

As for Hayden, it is quality to see members of our first team helping out those in the community.

Footballers often get a bad rep, but our lads seem to have their head screwed on when it comes to doing their bit to give back – whether that be with the NUFC foundation or by taking it upon themselves to make a difference.

  1. Sad to hear about Mick’s plight, and he’s hiking for a really worthy cause.

Let’s not get too carried away with Hayden’s contribution.
All things considered a grand equates to what he gets paid for a morning training session.

  2. Hayden did some daft things when he was younger – who didn’t?.

But him wanting to move from Newcastle was when Rafa had him rotting in the reserves while his missus & baby daughter were down south – I didn’t blame the lad for that one bit.

Since he came into the first team he was been one of our most consistent players. He gets through so much graft & carries the likes of Longstaff & Shelvey.

Quality player & quality fella ??
