Toon target suffers nasty injury – Deal in doubt as manager admits “it doesn’t look good”

Steve Bruce’s hunt for a new centre back may have suffered another blow today, with strong linked defender Cameron Carter-Vickers looking set for a spell on the sidelines.

The USA international was handed a rare start for Tottenham in their UEFA Conference League Qualifying game against Pacos de Ferreira last night, but hobbled off in the 87th minute.

Less than 24 hours later, new boss Nuno Esparito Santo has confirmed that he’s suffered a twisted ankle, stating it “does not look good”.

SBI Soccer stated earlier this week that we were in talks with Tottenham over a potential permanent deal, yet did insist that we were currently unwilling to pay their £5m asking price.

However, with the player now injured and expected to miss several weeks, any move for him could now be in doubt.
