‘Bust-up’ leaked as NUFC duo clash + players left baffled by Bruce & new owners – Report

The Mail’s Craig Hope has released another damning ‘exclusive’ late last night, claiming that Jamaal Lascelles and Isaac Hayden were involved in a colossal bust-upl following oir 3-2 defeat to Spurs.

The North East correspondent also reports that several Toon players ‘cannot believe’ the new owners have not already sacked under-fire manager Steve Bruce, whose position on Tyneside is becoming untenable.

It’s claimed in the piece that Lascelles and Hayden had to be pulled apart by staff after Sunday’s game, stating that shoves were exchanged after the pair went ‘head to head’ in the tunnel.

The report also states that several players voiced their frustrations at Bruce’s tactics (or lack of them) in the dressing room, with a ‘significant’ section of the squad wanting the owners to sack the 60-year-old ahead of Saturday’s crucial trip to Crystal Palace.

Yesterday afternoon, Steve Bruce’s son (Alex) posted and deleted a tweet telling fans to prepare for another “HOPEless article” at 11pm, something Hope delivered on more than an hour earlier than expected.

His feud with Bruce goes back to the beginning of his tenure as manager and hit its peak in March this year, when the Daily Mail revealed that Matt Ritchie had been involved in a training ground row with the Toon boss.

The club’s decision to ban the reporter was only reversed when the new owners came in 10 days ago, but it has not taken Hope long to release another damning piece that doesn’t paint Bruce or his players in a good light.

Read his piece here, as pressure continues to mount on the managerial situation at St James’ Park.

  1. They care that’s why , but when you have a clueless manager that plays disjointed systems then no wonder . Players haven’t played for him since Brighton game last year . Take over done so sack him & appoint jones till new man fills vacant seat

  2. Handbags – just players blaming others for their mistakes…

…BUT whatever happens NUFC can’t bring Howe in to replace Bruce

Howe as already got bad feelings towards backslider Fraser and did Wilson play much in Bournemouth’s relegation season…

..plus Howe with special links to the club he got relegated – with very good players – was deemed not able to get them back (!?)

  3. Seems like the new owners may have wad’s of money…

..but little idea on what we need right now – it’s not Howe, Rooney, Hodgson, Hughes,

Rooney one made me laugh – might as well get gazza!

IF you can get him Gerrard

And Ross Barkley isn’t the right sort of player in January or even in the summer – too happy in the bars in London

  4. If this article is true then he’s lost his players and he’s lost the dressing room why is he still here even if we go into the Crystal Palace game He has not got to be in the dugout someone else that’s got to have better ideas and galvanise the team better I don’t mean bringing a manager quickly I mean just don’t put him in the dugout I’m sure the team and the rest of the staff could get together and play better

  5. Got to laugh two players scrapping after the game and yet still Bruce gets the blame for that too, yes he needs to go but don’t lay the blame at his door for everything.

I’m actually embarrassed to read about 2 players fighting in the dressing room, if they showed as much fight on the pitch we wouldn’t be in as a position as we are, both Hayden and Lascelles have been passengers this year.

It’s clear that Hayden still wants a move south and Lascelles is about our fifth best centre back yet starts when fit, he is not a captain only a liability.

Hope the new manager sees we need a spine in the team, good central defender, good holding midfielder and another centre forward. Mind you also need fullbacks and a creative midfielder, hope the new owners realise the investment required to get this team to mid table security never mind challenging for the title.
