Eddie Howe – “I will commit 100% every single day to try and bring success to Newcastle.”

Eddie Howe faced the local media for the first time as the new Newcastle United head coach today, being unveiled at St James’ Park at 3pm.

Speaking to the press, Howe spoke brilliantly on several key issues, revealing how excited and honoured he was to be here, while stressing the importance of survival before we look to an exciting future under new ownership.

He’s also thanked the fans for their support and the players for a strong start to training yesterday, explaining why this club felt like the “perfect fit” for him as he returns to top flight management after 15 months out.

The 43-year-old has also vowed to give “100% every single day” to bring success back to St James’ Park, believing he has come back a “better manager.”

He admits the task ahead of him is “huge” after we’ve gone 11 games without a win so far this season, stressing it will take “a lot of hard work” to turn things around, yet has “absolute confidence” that we have what it takes to stay up.

Watch what he had to say via the three videos below:

What an impressive start to his time on Tyneside.

Let’s hope he can follow that up with a big win over Brentford in front of a packed out St James’ Park next Saturday!

  1. Olly: I mentioned on the chat bit about Minus 17 the documentary about his first Manager job. If you havent watched it, you should. I am completely sold on Howe now (and his Assistant) after watching that. It was a bl00dy miracle they stayed in the football league and it was mainly down to Howe. Then to get them to the PL. Just amazing.

My cynicism after Pards, and Bruce and Jones has melted away and I am completely behind Eddie and his staff. (Jones will be gone in the summer).
