In the light of injuries to Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin, Newcastle have stepped up their interest in Serbian striker Lula Jovic, according to Liam Kennedy at NewcastleWorld.
The club first began scouting the 24-year-old during the 2019/20 season and it’s claimed we’ve now lodged an enquiry about his potential availability in January.
Jovic, a €60 million buy from Eintract Frankfurt, has had limited chances at the Bernabeau, with Carlo Ancelotti preferring France international Karim Benzema and the Serbian struggling for form.
The Serbian, was loaned back to Frankfurt last season where he scored four goals in eighteen games in the Bundesliga, but since his return has had to be content with limited appearances off the bench.
It appears that Madrid would be willing to let Jovic leave, should the right opportunity become available.
Although Arsenal are also believed to have expressed an interest, he may not be guaranteed first team football at the Emirates and a decent offer from Newcastle, plus much improved remuneration package may just tempt the striker to St. James’ Park.
He’s had a tough few years, scoring just four goals since making that big money move to the Bernabeau, but this could be a loan move well worth looking at.
I believe this pair have outlived their usefulness as far as nufc are concerned, sure give them a role say in public relationship for the club, however make it nothing to do with either business or players as sure
both may have players a role in the overall transaction that took place
during the takeover, but I doubt either one knows diddly squat about the overall game.

Not Newcastle fan but I’d say leave this 1 alone. 4 goals in last few yrs says it all. Hardly likely to get enough goals to help keep you up.
