Newcastle could be set for Dubai after 16-day gap opens up – Report

As reported by the Shields Gazette, Newcastle are considering a second warm weather training camp – this time in Dubai – ahead of their final run of games in the Premier League.

Earlier in the season, Eddie Howe took his squad to Saudi Arabia in a team-bonding trip to rally the group of players in hopes they would push on in their fight against relegation.

While abroad, they played a friendly against Al-Ittihad, winning 2-1 with the goals coming from Ryan Fraser and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Howe also used the trip to get to know his team as his time with them off the pitch had been restricted due to the Premier League’s Covid protocols.

Since then, the team have gone eight games unbeaten and have risen from 18th place in the Premier League to 14th, as well as putting seven points between themselves and the bottom three.

With a 16-day gap opening up due to our fixture against Crystal Palace being rearranged, the club are now looking at Dubai as a possible destination for their training camp – likely to take place between our trip to Everton next Thursday (17th March) and our visit to Tottenham on April 3rd.

However, it is also possible that they may give their players some time off to spend with their families following a hectic run of four games in 11 days.
