3 ruled out of NUFC’s clash with Crystal Palace as Howe hints at setback & hopes for new approach

Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press in the last few moments, releasing an update on the injury front ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Crystal Palace.

He’s revealed that Ryan Fraser will miss out again, suggesting the winger may have suffered a setback and needs another scan after the first one left staff with ‘conflicting opinions’ on the hamstring injury picked up in that 1-0 win over Wolves.

As for Trippier and Wilson, Howe says ‘nothing has changed’ on that front over the last few days, so they’ll miss out once again tomorrow but are ‘still on track’ to play again this season.

Howe has also challenged his players to take ‘control’ of the game against Palace and ‘express ourselves’ a little bit more, feeling this is something we lacked in Sunday’s late win over Leicester.

Here’s what he had to say on all of the above, along with his thoughts on potentially making it SIX home wins on the spin for the first time since the late, great Sir Bobby Robson…

Howe on Ryan Fraser:

“The plan is to have another scan of his hamstring this week, just to see where the injury is.

“We had an initial scan, and two conflicting opinions, so we’re re-scanning it this week.”

Howe on Trippier and Wilson:

“Nothing’s changed in the last couple of days, so they’re still on track to hopefully play this season.”
