Big claims from Italy: NUFC set to meet with midfielder over summer move to St James’ Park?

According to an exclusive from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Newcastle are planning to meet with Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani over a potential move to St James’ Park.

He reports that a meeting will take place this week, although it’s said that Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan are also admirers of the 20-year-old talent.

Asllani has played a key role in the heart of midfield for his Italian side this season and has already made his debut for the Albanian national team.

With 23 appearances in his breakthrough season, Asllani has attracted a lot of attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and, while he would prefer to stay in Italy, Newcastle will meet with the young man to discuss his future.

At such a young age, Aslanni has plenty of time to develop under Howe and could prove to be a cheaper option than some of the expensive superstars we have been linked to in recent weeks as well as being a long-term asset.

  1. looks like we are struggling to get the players newcastle want, ac milan a big pull for botman and it looks like Etikite is having second thoughts, that’s if the journalists are telling the truth.

  2. We do have a lot of Midfielders
Bruno, Big Joe, Little Joe, Shelvey, the Longstaff brothers, with de Bolle and Anderson coming through.
A 20 year old might mean that Kristjan Asllani, Anderson and de Bolle are the future
with Bruno, Big Joe, and Little Joe the present
Not sure about the bench though
