This new-look Newcastle United not only have ambitious owners, a much better manager, an ever-improving squad and a fanbase full of hope, but also some brilliant content coming out on NUFC TV!
In their latest video, the club have asked the first-team squad to name their “unsung hero” for the 2021/22 season.
The responses are fascinating, with it brilliant to see what the players think of their fellow Toon teammates and interesting to see the number of different names, however there is one man who’s mentioned more than anyone else – Emil Krafth!
Out of the 15 players asked to name their unsung hero, the much improved Swede was picked SIX times, with Joelinton selected twice – gaining votes from Bruno Guimaraes and Chris Wood.
The likes of Dubravka, Schar, Shelvey, Fernandez, Targett and Burn were also mentioned, with kitman Ray Thompson picked by Matt Ritchie and Ciaran Clark also a surprise selection, being praised for showing professionalism off the pitch after being left out of Howe’s 25-man squad earlier this year.

Great to see Krafth getting the praise he deserves for a rock solid second half of the season.
He was dubbed a flop after his first season at St James’ Park and nowhere near good enough to play at Premier League level, yet a few years on he’s barely put a foot wrong, filling in admirably for England international Kieran Trippier.
