Sky Sports release Hugo Ekitike update after report claims NUFC have ‘pulled out’ of £30m deal

Sky Sports insist that Newcastle United are STILL in talks to sign Reims forward Hugo Ekitike, despite reports earlier today suggesting we’d pulled the plug on his proposed move to St James’ Park.

Graeme Bailey released a bold exclusive this morning for 90min, stating a deal was now ‘off’ as we’d grown sick and tired of the player’s agent – who was not only demanding additional fees but continuing to offer his client to other clubs in Europe.

However, Sky Sports claim that we remain in discussions – which have been described as ‘difficult’ – but will walk away from the deal soon and pursue moves for other targets if progress isn’t made.

PSG are also believed to be interested in the 20-year-old, according to one source used by Sky Sports News, so it remains to be seen if they are part of the reason Ekitke’s agent is pushing for more and biding his time.

Watch their latest update below – via Keith Downie – on the never-ending saga driving Newcastle fans round the bend:

Newcastle United are still in talks for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike but are prepared to walk away from the deal if progress is not made.

Negotiations over certain terms have been described to Sky Sports News as “difficult”.

One source has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the France U21 International and that other clubs are keen too.

If PSG move for Ekitike, it could pave the way for Arnaud Kalimuendo to leave the club.

A number of Premier League clubs scouted Kalimuendo last season when he was on loan at Lens.

  1. If this story is true I hope NUFC make it known what this greedy agent wants for himself as a warning to other clubs and fanbases .
