Player rejects Newcastle United offer in search of Champions League football – Report

A few days ago, French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Newcastle were interested in signing Adrien Rabiot, believing he’d be available at a cut-price fee now he’s entered the final 12 months of his Juventus contract.

However, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have now revealed that the midfielder has rejected a move to St James’ Park as he wants to continue playing in the Champions League.

The former PSG man made 32 Serie A appearances last season and was a consistent member of the starting lineup as Juventus finished the season in fourth.

The report states that Newcastle are the only club to have ‘already come forward’ for the Frenchman – who is believed to be available for €20m – but it seems the 27-year-old has no intention of giving up European football.

It’s been suggested that our priorities lie elsewhere, with a striker, right-winger and goalkeeper appearing to be on the agenda, yet our out of the blue move for Nick Pope suggests we’re ready to make moves in all areas of the pitch if the right player comes up at the right price.

  1. If you did your homework you’d have discovered that nufc have never been interested in Rabiot. Not in the past nor the present.
Obviously agent trying to big him up, when his current club actually want rid of him.
