Premier League midfielder now available for £30m: Newcastle keen after contract talks stall – Report

According to The Sun, Newcastle are keeping tabs on West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek after he was told he wouldn’t be getting a pay rise any time soon.

The 27-year-old has been key to the Hammer’s recent success under David Moyes – scoring 16 goals in his two seasons at the club – but the report claims he could be moved on for £30million if there is no resolution found over a new contract.

Since joining the London-based club, the 6ft 4′ Czech has gone on to make over 100 appearances, reaching the Europa League semi-final as well as finishing in European spots over the past couple of years.

There are a handful of Premier League clubs keeping an eye on the situation, with Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton all said to be ‘on alert’ over his potential availability.

With two years left on his current deal, talks were held back in February over an extension, but there are no plans to give the experienced international a pay rise, which could cause him to consider his future at the club.
