Toon fans invited to take part in new campaign as Wor Flags plan for 2022/23 season at SJP

Wor Flags have launched a new campaign asking for any donations from Newcastle supporters – via their ‘#FundForAPund’ initiative – as they prepare for their biggest season yet at St James’ Park.

Over the years, the group – run by local volunteers – have given us so many magical moments such as the ‘We Are The Mags’ surfer against Liverpool or the display on the final home game of last season, which featured flags on all four sides of the stadium.

Now, they are preparing for the upcoming 2022/23 and are hoping to make it ‘bigger and better’ with the ‘FundForAPund’ campaign allowing fans to donate £1 on a monthly basis (sign up here).

They hope that with a lower regular fee, it may encourage more supporters to donate and improve the displays that took place on almost every single home game last season following the takeover.

While they are aware of today’s financial pressures, if even a fraction of supporters committed to £1 per month, the fan-led group claim it would ‘set us up for the season’ and enable them to continue putting on spectacular displays each week.
