Leaked photos of Sven Botman emerge on Friday night – Official announcement imminent?

The agency who look after Sven Botman have leaked a host of new images on social media of our £35m man in a black and white shirt.

This comes after the club confirmed we had ‘agreed a deal in principle’ with Lille on Tuesday evening – an update which all but confirmed his arrival, but left fans waiting for ‘official’ confirmation of his signature.

Now, just moments ago, Sports management company Muy Manero have posted what look like official pictures of the Dutchman in a Newcastle United shirt, with him posing in front of the East Stand in our new Castore kit and photographed signing a contract in the press room.

See them in full below, with these posts from the player’s agency suggesting the club may be in a position to finally confirm his arrival soon!

The player is currently away on holiday, with the likes of Botman, Guimaraes and Schar given extended leave after playing for their country while others began their summer break.

Here’s what the big man told Dutch outlet De Telegraaf a few days ago when asked why he picked Newcastle United over AC Milan:

“Ultimately, Newcastle United’s great project, in combination with playing in the Premier League, was the deciding factor.”

“That last one has been a dream my whole life. AC Milan also gave me a good feeling, but Newcastle United felt just a little better in the end.

“I really wanted to go to Newcastle United in January, because I also heard, and that’s a cliché, I know, that a train like this doesn’t pass by very often. But the clubs couldn’t figure it out.

“And afterwards this might be better, because I can now experience a lot of preparation and I was able to say goodbye to Lille in a beautiful way. That club deserved it. Staying wasn’t a punishment for me in January either, because I knew there were two great Champions League games against Chelsea coming up. I now have that baggage too.”
