Newcastle United have released highlights of yesterday’s pre-season win in Portugal – which saw us play a series of 45-minute matches against Burnley.
As shown in the video below, Joe Willock and Miguel Almiron both bagged braces, with Elliot Anderson, Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie and Jacob Murphy also getting on the scoresheet in Lisbon.
The clips show Willock taking both of his goals well – sending his tally for the summer up to three – while Almiron added two assists to a brace of his own, setting up the former Arsenal man and Callum Wilson.
While it is hard to be certain from highlight videos, it’s good to see Miggy looking more decisive in the final third, releasing the ball quickly for his assists and getting shots away early for both goals.
Hopefully he can take this form into Tuesday’s clash with Benfica, which promises to be our toughest test yet of pre-season.
