Newcastle growing in confidence over Brazilian attacker as club prepare new bid – Report

The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope has revealed that Newcastle are submitting a second bid for Watford’s Joao Pedro after our initial £20m offer was rejected by the Championship club.

According to Hope, the second bid is still said to be way short of Watford’s £35m valuation of the Brazilian, but ‘there is confidence among some a compromise will be agreed this week.’

At just 20-years-old, Pedro comes with an abundance of potential and a bright future, but his current goal scoring record – 13 in 71 for Watford – still leaves a lot to be desired.

However, training and playing with someone like Callum Wilson, arguably one of the best finishers in the league, should massively help develop the young man’s talents.

Pedro has also been known to play on the left of a front three and would add some much needed squad depth at both the left-wing and forward positions.

With the former Fluminense striker reportedly hungry to play Premier League football, there’s a good chance we may have found our long-awaited attacker to support the injury-prone Wilson.
