Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Newcastle have now received an official loan bid from Manchester United for Martin Dubravka – which includes an option to buy for £5m next summer.
The 33-year-old has fallen out of favour on Tyneside following the arrival of England international Nick Pope from Burnley who has started our first three Premier League fixtures.
Dubravka was left out of the squad as Newcastle travelled to Tranmere for our EFL Cup second round tie, sparking rumours that he could be on his way out of the club in the next week.
While the Slovakian seems unwilling to remain as backup for the Magpies, he would be prepared to battle David de Gea for that number one spot at Old Trafford, a position that the Spaniard has held down for the last 11 seasons.
With four first-team goalkeepers currently in the squad, it was inevitable that one of Dubravka, Karl Darlow or Mark Gillespie would be departing this window, although it seems slightly odd that the Slovakian would go from one back up role to another.

I’d say yes if you pay the same fee you wanted from us for lingard hahaha ha karma is a bit.. Ch

Do we get a bonus if he helps to keep them up?
I know it’s hard to imagine, but Man Utd might be a rival to us in a few years time so I’m not sure if we should be helping them.
