Newcastle set to announce new deal after rejecting several summer offers – Report

According to Mark Douglas at iNews, Elliot Anderson looks set to be rewarded with a new contract at Newcastle United.

He reports that the club have informed a host of Championship clubs that they won’t be letting the 19-year-od leave on loan, having rejected a host of offers for the attacking midfielder this summer.

The local lad signed a new long-term contract with Newcastle United on his 18th birthday in 2020, however Douglas claims that he’ll now sign a new improved deal after breaking into Howe’s first-team plans.

Anderson was bright in last week’s Carabao Cup win over Tranmere and made an impact during his 10 minutes on the field at Wolves, winning several free kicks, driving forward with the ball and almost winning it late on with a header that crashed the crossbar.

On potential incomings, the same report states that Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher remains a player we like alongside Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, although the latter could be beyond our reach.

The Dutch giants are in no rush to sell and won’t want lose another key man late in the day, having recouped almost £180m in player sales so far this summer.

  1. Brilliant news regarding Elliot Anderson. Well deserved. He’s ready to do a job for our first team, rather than for someone else!

Over the moon for the lad 😀🖤🤍
