Mehrdad Ghodoussi speaks out after NUFC co-owners escape serious injury in Liverpool incident

As revealed by The Mail, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi and were lucky to avoid any serious injuries when a ‘motorbike driven by balaclava-clad men’ drove recklessly through crowds outside Anfield before Wednesday’s game at Liverpool.

Prior to our clash on Merseyside, our co-owners – who are husband and wife – were on their way to the stadium when the motorbike, thought to be carrying a suspected drug dealer, drove through crowds and narrowly missed them.

One supporter was described as being left in a ‘bad way’ following the collision and was struggling to breathe with another taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Speaking to The Mail, Ghodoussi had this to say, revealing that his wife, Amanda, was “pretty shaken up” by the near miss:

The bike flew right by us and could have hit us easily. It was a scary incident.

Amanda was pretty shaken up but calmed down once we got inside the stadium.

“Thankfully, it appears serious injuries were avoided. But it could have been far worse, the bike drove straight into the crowd.”

According to a witness, the noise of the vehicle alerted many to its presence, but due to the sheer number of people, it was difficult to see where the bike was until it was very close, causing many to jumo in fear.

The two men on the bike eventually crashed and were thrown off entering Stanley Park and both have now been arrested.

  1. Do you remember when the first “COPS” show came out in the US?
You would see a video of an old man crossing the street then 10 seconds after he’s safely across a car would round the corner with tyres squealing, but not even skidding.
To beef things up the narrator would say something like “watch as the old veteran narrowly avoids death as the teenage joyriders race around the corner barely in control of the powerful vehicle they have stolen missing him by inches!”

Sounds a bit like the headline to this article.

I escaped serious injury this morning. I got in a taxi. If I had been standing in front of it instead of sitting in it…..
