Toon target signs new long-term contract until 2028 as club release announcement video

Newcastle United target Joao Pedro has signed a new long-term contract at Watford, keeping him at Vicarage Road until the summer of 2028.

This comes less than a month after we made a series of bids for the Brazilian talent, with it looking at one stage that he was on his way to St James’ Park.

Despite some big claims from Fabrizio Romano – who reported on August 22nd that it was a ‘done deal’ for £25m plus £5m in add-ons – the 20-year-old ended up remaining with the Championship side.

We ended up signing Alexander Isak in the end, bringing in the Swede on a club record fee from Real Sociedad, but The Athletic released a piece earlier today which confirmed that Pedro is STILL on the club’s radar ahead of the January window.

However, with him now agreeing a new improved deal with the Hornets, he’ll be that bit tougher to sign in the new year, with his price tag also on the rise following his outstanding displays in the second tier.
