Castore slated on social media as surprise new kit leaves Newcastle fans baffled – Photo

Newcastle’s kit provider Castore have launched yet another new shirt to mark our 130th anniversary today – but the design hasn’t gone down well at all on Tyneside.

Castore have claimed that the strip was released to commemorate and ‘pay homage’ to all of the club legends who have come and gone throughout those 130 years.

The announcement has been met with a lot of criticism on social media, with some supporters labelling the kit as a ‘monstrosity’ and calling Castore the ‘worst manufacturer’ we’ve had; leading to the disabling of comments on their Instagram reveal.

The brand have already been criticised by Newcastle fans in the past for delays in deliveries, with others also unhappy with the quality of the shirts upon arrival.

Here’s official photos of the kit; which will set you back a minimum of £65 based on club shop prices!

This is now our fifth kit of the season after a special edition featuring the Newcastle skyline was also released earlier in the season for our clash against Brighton at the Amex stadium.

  1. Clueless Reynolds at it again with his uninformed rabble-rousing!

Do you honestly believe that Castore can just come up with ideas and launch a kit without any kind of approval of the club?
So taking your understanding of how commerce works to the next step – if Castore want to, they can launch a new kit with the Toon badge on it, in, say, red and white stripes?

You really do take clueless to a whole new level!

  2. Would just like to receive the top I ordered back in July. Definitely not buying another shirt online

  3. Not sure how the print celebrates anything to do with the club, legends or anniversary, It’s not even a strip as there are no shirts or socks. Given it’s the 5th shirt they’ve pushed out before the world cup break it looks more like an exercise in fleecing the fans than anything else.
