In an interview with Sky Sports, an emotional Bruno Guimaraes revealed how ‘proud’ and ‘happy’ he was following the birth of his son Matteo – who arrived just two days before playing in our 2-1 victory over Tottenham.
Despite going two days without sleep leading up to the game after his son’s birth on Friday morning, the Brazilian put in a key performance in the midfield as Newcastle soared into the top four of the Premier League.
The 25-year-old was left struggling for words as he tried to describe ‘one of the best days of my life’ and encapsulate his incredible last few days where ‘all the things in my life became like a dream.’
Goalscorer Callum Wilson, who was alongside Bruno in the interview, was ‘so happy’ for his friend and teammate and praised him for his ‘unbelievable character’.
