Bruno Guimaraes shares brilliant gift received from Nick Pope ahead of the World Cup break

This Newcastle United squad aren’t just a group of footballers. They’re a band of brothers.

Following his call up to the Brazil squad, Bruno Guimaraes has revealed a brilliant gift he’s received from Nick Pope; who will also be going to the World Cup after he was selected for England yesterday.

As shared on Bruno’s official Instagram account (see below), Pope has bought the Guimaraes family a “My World Cup memories” book for their newborn son, Matteo. Such a thoughtful gift and brilliant idea just as his father prepares to represent his country in Qatar.

In his post, Bruno added: “Thanks for the gift mate @npope29. It’s a pleasure to play with you and to be your friend.”

This is a big part of why I adore this new-look Newcastle United, both on and off the pitch.

Gifts like this show the bond between players, who aren’t just teammates, they are good friends and brothers. Eddie Howe making sure every staff member is in the official picture after he’s named Premier League Manager of the Month. Team photos after we win. Every player giving their all.

What a great bunch of lads.
