Almiron responds to Jack Grealish after winning Premier League Player of the Month – Video

Miguel Almiron has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for October following a stunning run of form in front of goal.

With six goals in six appearances, no one deserves this more than the Paraguayan; who beat the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne to the award, along with Toon teammates Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes.

Not only was he prolific in front of goal, he scored some stunners throughout October, with his volley at Fulham expected to be named the Premier League’s Goal of the Month.

After collecting the award, Miggy was asked if Jack Grealish’s disrespectful comments inspired him to find form. However, he insists that this had “nothing” to do with his success, wishing the England international well and instead putting it down to “hard work” and the support of his teammates.

Here’s what he told Sky Sports’ Keith Downie after picking up the award:

“Nothing Jack Grealish has said has anything to do with my success and great form we’ve shown as a group.

“He’s a great player and I wish him all the best, as I always do.

“This is down solely to work, more work and even more hard work.

“Thank you for the award, thanks to my teammates because without their help I wouldn’t be getting the award.”
