Journalist mocks Newcastle fans as Saudi Arabia stun Argentina at the World Cup – The irony…

Today we witnessed one of THE biggest upsets in World Cup history, as Saudi Arabia stunned Argentina in Qatar.

After going 1-0 down to a Lionel Messi spot-kick, the Saudis scored twice in the second half and held on to seal a shock win in the opening game of Group C.

They ended Argentina’s 36-game unbeaten run and gave their nation a moment they’ll never forget, yet a Chief Writer for The Mail took this as an opportunity to poke fun at Newcastle United fans.

Step forward, Oliver Holt, who claimed the Big Market must’ve been bouncing when Saudi Arabia took the lead.

I understand that serious questions will be asked about the human rights issue in that part of the world, but the sly digs at the club, the region and for some reason the fans are constant from this man – which is rather ironic when he’s currently being paid to cover the World Cup in Qatar!

Here’s what he posted on Twitter during the game, taking aim at Toon fans not once but twice:

No doubt he was lapping it up in hospitality while he made these digs at Newcastle United fans. You have to laugh…

  1. This bloke is obsessed with Saudi ownership of the Toon and has to have a derogatory, nasty and sarcastic piece about it in every article he writes. I’ve already written to him about his pathetic ‘moral high horse’ rantings and hypocritical comments asking him where his criticism was about Man U. being sent vast sums of money over 15 years and other Saudi involvements etc., but as usual, no response, from a hack coward. Frankly he just can’t help himself. He is an embarrassment to himself and his newspaper.
He wants to get a grip.

  2. Everyone is entitled to their view as long as it is a balanced view, this guy is incapable of giving a balanced opinion otherwise he would have mentioned the many other clubs who have embraced money from such sources.
    Clearly a bigot!

  3. He’s probably right and why not, I know my family were happy they won, it must be killing them all when good things are happening with the ownership and now a great result for KSA.
