New report claims FIVE Mags could leave in January and six wide forwards being watched

According to a new report, Chris Wood, Jamal Lascelles, Ryan Fraser, Matt Ritchie and Jamal Lewis could all be made available in January to create space for new signings.

This comes from 90min, who also name a host of wide forwards being watched by the club, suggesting the arrival of a new winger remains high on Howe’s agenda – despite Miguel Almiron’s scintillating form in front of goal.

They claim that Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach, Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby and Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk have all been monitored by Toon scouts since the summer.

Vasco De Gama midfielder Andrey Santos is also named as a player of interest, while James Maddison remains a top target – although any £50m move for the Leicester City star could rely on a series of winter sales, for FFP reasons.

A young right-back is wanted – West Ham’s Harrison Ashby and Leeds’ Coady Drameh have both been linked – while a new deal for Brazilian maestro Bruno Guimaraes is on the agenda in 2023 to reward his stunning displays during his first year on Tyneside.

Howe’s latest comments on the transfer front suggested it could be a quite January at St James’ Park – although lowering expectations could be a wise play from the NUFC boss ahead of notoriously tough window to do business!
