Sky Sports: Newcastle target wanted by Liverpool and Chelsea as player joins new agency

Sky Sports are reporting that both Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to sign Moises Caicedo – the Brighton midfielder Newcastle United scouts have watched ‘extensively’ in recent months.

Howe is very much in the market for a new ‘No 6′ and it’s thought the Ecuadorian has plenty of admirers at St James’ Park, with Dan Ashworth the man who helped bring him to Brighton two years ago.

The Athletic Chris Waugh and The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards have both confirmed our interest in the 21-year-old in recent weeks, stating he and Youri Tielemans are Premier League proven options that feature high on Howe’s wishlist.

However, it seems both Chelsea and Liverpool are also very keen on Caicedo, with Sky Sports adding that he’s just moved agency to Futbol Division as he takes steps towards sealing a big move in 2023.

The all-action midfielder has been outstanding since arriving in England and was always going to receive plenty of interest. Mix the fierce competition with a reported asking price of £70m-plus and Brighton’s reluctance to sell midway through the season, this will be a tough deal for Newcastle to pull off.
