Howe makes 8 changes as big guns return – Official Newcastle team vs Leicester

The team sheets are in ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup quarter-final, seeing Eddie Howe select a strong side against Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.

Here’s the XI he’s picked at St James’ Park:

(4-3-3): Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Longstaff, Guimaraes, Willock – Almiron, Wilson Joelinton.

SUBS: Darlow, Lascelles Saint-Maximin, Ritchie, Isak, Manquillo, Wood, Murphy, Anderson.

A total of eight changes from Saturday’s FA Cup exit sees Pope, Schar, Burn, Trippier, Bruno, Willock, Almiron and Wilson replace Dubravka, Lascelles, Lewis, Manquillo, Anderson, Ritchoe, Murphy and Isak.

Allan Saint-Maximin is back in the squad after missing out last weekend, having returned to training on Monday following a period of illness.

Alexander Isak is also on the bench, giving us plenty of firepower to call upon after the Swede played 45 minutes on his comeback at Hillsborough.

As for the Foxes, Brendan Rodgers is without captain Jonny Evans and midfield trio James Maddison, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Boubakary Soumare.
