Player set to reject Newcastle and two summer targets have doubts about Toon move – Reports

According to The Mail, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher has ‘no desire’ to swap Stamford Bridge for St James’ Park this month, remaining determined to prove himself at his boyhood club.

The 22-year-old has received loan offers from Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Southampton despite a poor first half of the season.

However, Gallagher is believed to be willing to stay and fight for his place in Graham Potter’s team who currently sit in 10th in the league – 10 points behind the Magpies, with just two victories in their last 10 games.

Elsewhere, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has issued some potentially disappointing news on our pursuit of Leicester’s James Maddison and Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

He reports that Newcastle have been ‘led to believe’ that Maddison ‘prefers other options’ if and when he leaves the Foxes this summer.

Edwards states that the same is true on Neves, with the Portuguese international waiting until the summer to secure a move after receiving interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

  1. You are so negative to nufc, having to state players don’t want to come to us, as if we are not good enough, trash talk. You lot say we are interested in lots of players, lazy journalism. Let’s wait and see who Eddie brings in. Hwtl

  3. I totally agree, nothing but negative journalism regarding Newcastle. Facts are what we want to hear not your opinions based on prejudice.

    You’ve lost me here.

So you’d expect the blog to ignore any reports in the future that suggest or confirm a player has rejected us?

It’s not ‘negative journalism’, it’s just us sharing what’s out there, whether it be good or bad. Not going to ignore certain reports just because they don’t say what we want to hear as fans.
