“He’s looked absolutely electric” – Howe reveals Mag who’s wowed in training ahead of Liverpool clash

Eddie Howe has revealed that Alexander Isak has looked ‘absolutely electric’ in training ahead of tonight’s clash with Liverpool, insisting our £60m man is in ‘good condition’ and ‘improving all the time.’

The Swede missed our game against West Ham due to a concussion he picked up against Southampton, but he looks fit and ready to face the side he scored against on his debut.

Our head coach was encouraged by his performance last week against Bournemouth and pleased that he was able to make it through the full 90 minutes, giving a ‘good effort for the team’.

Isak’s fitness will be welcome news to Howe who has had to cope with a number of injuries and suspensions recently, most notably Callum Wilson who picked up a knock last week.

Hopefully our record signing can once again show off his attacking qualities, put in another impressive performance against Liverpool and get his revenge for that ‘offside’ goal that was ruled out back in August.

Here’s what Howe had to say on his star man:

“He’s in good physical condition and improving all the time.

“Before he had the concussion I think it was his best form for us.

“In training, he’s looked absolutely electric.

“He missed a week’s training and at this level, there’s a slight reaction to that.

“He lasted 90 minutes last week and gave a good effort for the team.”
