Ahead of Sunday’s cup final, Bruno Guimaraes has revealed his desire to ‘put his name in the club’s history’ since the day he signed in a heartfelt message to Newcastle fans.
The Brazilian will be making his return to the team after serving a three-match ban for his tackle in the semi-final tie against Southampton, so he is eager to make up for lost time as he prepares for his first outing at Wembley.
While he would have ‘loved’ to be involved in the Premier League games leading up to the tie, the suspension has given the midfielder more time to ‘focus’ and prepare for the final.
Bruno has been nothing short of incredible since signing last January – the passion, joy and quality he brings to our engine room is everything we’ve been crying out for. He will, however, need to be at his best on Sunday, with he and Joelinton likely to be in a midfield battle against South American compatriots Casemiro and Fred.
