Newcastle ‘offered’ box-office signing as £62m star faces uncertain future – Report

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic following rumours that he has fallen out of favour with head coach Max Allegri.

The Italian giants have been hit with a 15-point deduction this season, meaning it is now unlikely that they will secure Champions League football for next year.

With Allegri under increasing amounts of pressure, there are rumours that Juventus will part ways with either their coach or their star striker in the summer, depending on how the rest of this season unfolds.

Should the 55-year-old remain in the dugout then the Serbian striker, who has been watch by Toon scouts in his Fiorentina days, will be offered to a handful of Premier League teams.

It is understood that the Serie A side would expect to make back the £62m that they paid for the 23-year-old a year ago while the forward himself is likely to demand a huge salary.

Vlahovic would be a huge coup for Newcastle, who are keen to bolster their attack in the summer, although any move may be a non-starter if we fail to qualify for the Champions League.

  1. My question would be why has he fallen out of favour with the manager – a world class manager.

No doubting the boys talent – but what’s his character like?.
