Newcastle rekindle interest in two former targets and scouts watch German winger – Report

According to new reports, Newcastle United have revived their interest in Bayer Leverkusen duo Moussa Diaby and Mitchel Bakker.

After showing interest in both last summer, 90min in Germany claim we’re ready to launch new bids for both at the end of the season as the pair eye moves away from the Bundesliga side.

The same outlet claims that we’ve also been tracking Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt, with Graeme Bailey reporting that we’ve sent scouts to watch the German international this season.

Dortmund are desperate to sign the 26-year-old up to a new contract, aware of the fact his current deal is due to expire in just over 12 months time.

Back to Diaby and Bakker, the former was priced out of a move to St James’ Park last summer following intense interest, while Bakker – who often played alongside Botman for the Netherlands’ U21s – came close to signing in the first January transfer window under new owners.

Diaby is also wanted by Arsenal and could be hot property after another impressive season out in Germany, where he’s bagged 11 goals and six assists in all competitions.
