Great news for Newcastle as top four rivals crumble from 3-1 up on Saturday – Updated PL table

It’s been a brilliant 24 hours for Newcastle United in the race for a top four finish.

After we were secured a 93rd minute win at Nottingham Forest last night, we’ve seen Spurs drop points in dramatic fashion away to bottom of the table Southampton this afternoon.

Tottenham went 3-1 thanks to second half goals from Harry Kane and Ivan Perisic, but a Theo Walcott tap in and James Ward-Prowse penalty in the 93rd minute saw the game end 3-3.

In truth, it was an extremely soft penalty, not that Eddie Howe will complain, as the result means we are now just two points behind Spurs with TWO games in hand.

Elsewhere, top six contenders Brentford dropped points at home to Leicester, while the likes of Man Utd, Brighton and Liverpool don’t play this weekend.
