‘He’s been hitting the gym!’ – Toon fans spot body transformation as Mag puts on muscle

Following last night’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United released a brilliant dressing room photo of the squad celebrating at the City Ground.

In that picture, a shirtless Elliot Anderson was front and centre, showing off his ripped new look after working hard in the gym.

Stood alongside Jacob Murphy – who also looks in superb shape – it seemed clear the 20-year-old had been hitting the gym; and it showed in his performance, too.

He was tough to shake off the ball, aggressive out of possession and made things happen, making one good run in behind, enjoying a couple of lovely dribbles into the box and forcing Navas into a smart stop from a powerful volley.

As we know, his towering header above the athletic Aurier should have stood. It was a magical moment spoilt by VAR, but Eddie Howe will be hugely encouraged by his cameo, stating after the game that the Geordie attacker did “really well.”
