“I love him” – Jamie Carragher drools over Newcastle United star in latest rave-review

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher admitted that he ‘loves’ Newcastle star Alexander Isak after he was the ‘most important player’ in our 2-0 victory against Man United.

The former Liverpool man was full of praise for our Swedish striker’s ‘energy and aggression on the ball’ and made the suggestion that Man United should have signed him at the start of the season.

In his analysis, Carragher reflected back on his debut against Liverpool and how ‘electric’ he looked as he very nearly bagged a brace at Anfield, also praising his brilliant touch and pass to Bruno in the build-up to our opener on Sunday.

The 45-year-old believes that Newcastle and Eddie Howe have a ‘special player’ on our hands and hopefully he continues to be proved right as we head to West Ham tonight.

Here’s what Carragher said on our club-record striker:

“I love him. I love watching him play. I mean Manchester United need a centre-forward, you look at him and I think he would be absolutely fantastic for Manchester United.

“They could have got him at the start of the season. When I first saw him at Anfield, I think it was his first appearance, he looked outstanding and he looked electric”.

“I just love the energy and aggression on that ball – that touch on the left foot, that touch then on the right foot [in the build-up to Willock’s opener], then to play a pass [to Guimaraes], honestly, I think it’s absolutely fantastic.

“That goal is down to him. But the most important player, in that game going 1-0, was Isak – I think Newcastle have a special, special centre-forward.”
