Longstaff returns and Howe sticks with Burn – Official Newcastle team vs Tottenham

The team sheets are in ahead of today’s massive game in the top-four race, seeing us take on Spurs at St James’ Park.

Here’s the XI Eddie Howe has gone with, featuring x changes from last Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa:

STARTING 11: Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Longstaff, Guimaraes, Willock – Murphy, Isak, Joelinton.

SUBS: Dubravka, Lascelles, Manquillo, Targett, Ritchie, Anderson, Almiron, Gordon, Wilson.

Anthony Gordon drops out of the side, seeing Sean Longstaff comes back in to partner Bruno and Willock in midfield.

As a result, Joelinton has moved out to the left of a front three, while Jacob Murphy has kept his place on the right, keeping a fit-again Miguel Almiron on the bench.

Dan Burn also starts ahead of Matt Targett, with Allan Saint-Maximin missing (as expected) as he recovers from a hamstring issue.

As for the visitors, Harry Kane leads the line and it looks like a switch to a back four, with Lenglet and Davies not fit enough to start:

SPURS XI: Lloris – Porro, Romero, Dier, Perisic – Skipp, Hojbjerg, Sarr – Kulusevski, Son, Kane.

Howay the lads!!
