Dan Ashworth set to pursue exciting triple signing as Howe identifies top targets – Report

According to Football Insider, Eddie Howe has asked Dan Ashworth to pursue James Maddison, Moussa Diaby and Kieran Tierney ahead of the summer transfer window.

The trio have been heavily linked with the Magpies for a number of months – both Maddison and Diaby had been targets last summer but proved to be too pricey, while Tierney has emerged more recently.

Howe is known to want an attacking full-back to replace Dan Burn – who is limited going forwards – and has identified the Scotsman as his number one target despite his injury record.

It’s believed the Toon boss presented all three to Ashworth in a recent round of transfer talks, feeling all three would improve our starting XI and slot into the side seamlessly.

Despite 10 goals in our last two games, we’re clearly looking to bolster our attacking options as we prepare for Europe next season, with Maddison and Diaby two proven operators who can add more goals and assists to our side.

With Maddison out of contract next summer, he looks destined to leave a struggling Leicester, while Howe will be hoping to secure Champions League qualification to also entice Diaby to the North East.
