It looks like Joelinton will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Leeds – despite concerns he could be sidelined with an injury.
The Brazilian limped off in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal and was spotted struggling to put weight on his ankle after the game. However, official photos from yesterday’s training session show the 26-year-old took part in the session alongside the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak.
This isn’t the only fitness boost Eddie Howe has received over the past 24 hours, as The Mail have also shared a positive update on Sean Longstaff’s ongoing foot injury.
Craig Hope has revealed that the midfielder has NOT suffered a break in his foot after visiting a specialist. He remains a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Elland Road – although there remains ‘a chance’ he could return – but any fears our local lad won’t play again this season have been dismissed.
Whether Longstaff is able to return or not, it’s a big relief that Joelinton is OK and back in training. Without the big man, our engine room could’ve been missing two key players against a physical Leeds midfield, but it looks like he’ll be ready to start alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock.
