Arsenal make Kieran Tierney decision after Newcastle and Aston Villa interest – The Times

According to The Times, Arsenal are ready to sell Kieran Tierney to help fund a big-money move for Declan Rice.

The same piece adds that Newcastle remain ‘confident’ of signing the left-back, believing they will beat Aston Villa to a deal for the want-away defender.

It’s thought the North London club are demanding in excess of £30m for Tierney, with a couple of fringe players set to be sold to raise funds for Rice – who is likely to cost in the region of £100m.

Eddie Howe is clearly a big fan of the full-back and tried to sign him for Bournemouth several years ago. His injury record is a concern, however, but suggestions we are so confident of bringing him to St James’ Park suggests a deal is well within our reach.

Villa boss Unai Emery appears to be keen on a reunion – he brought Tierney to Arsenal during his brief stint at the Emirates – yet a move north, closer to family in Scotland, and the pull of Champions League football could be big selling points that work in our favour.
