Following Bruno Guimaraes’ wedding party in Brazil, Joelinton has been pictured with Lucas Paqueta; the former Newcastle United target who is also great friends with our midfield maestro.
Fresh from winning the Europa Conference League last week, Paqueta and Joelinton were given special roles on Bruno’s big day, seeing the West Ham star post a photo of him and ‘big Joe’ on his Instagram story during the event (see below).
Paqueta was pictured on Tyneside last May, where he visited Bruno – a good friend from their time together at Lyon – with his partner to celebrate his partner’s birthday.
Despite constant links with Newcastle and confirmed interest from some outlets – The Athletic said our recruitment team were big admirers – he headed to London, sealing a £51m move to West Ham in August last year.
12 months later, he’s recovered from a tough start and has been superb every time I’ve watched the Hammers lately. He’s creative, skillful, can play in several positions and work so hard. For a flair player, he puts in a real shift and doesn’t shirk a challenge.
Joelinton made more fouls (65) than any other player last season, but Paqueta wasn’t far behind him. With 50 fouls, only six others made more last term.
Given the constant links last year, his close relationship with Bruno and the growing Brazilian contingent on Tyneside, I would love to see us rekindle our interest; especially now he’s proven himself in the Premier League.
